I started with the Shinobu Kocho butterfly design. When I was done with that, I liked the pink and green pattern but thought that the dress would also look good in a bolder color. …And what better to pick for a butterfly wing pattern than the brilliant red and orange gradient of a Monarch Butterfly?

I had a lot of fun doing the butterfly veins for the skirt and top. Actually, this is one of the first designs I made on my brand new screen tablet. Still getting the hang of using it but I think it’s going to be great.
